A Note On Battling Cancer
As many of you already know, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal cancer back in mid-July. I started feeling dizzy the day after July 4th. After two weeks, it didn’t get any better, so I asked my wife, Chrissy, to take me to the emergency room. They did a scan and found a tumor in my brain. On the left side of my cerebellum. They then scanned the rest of my body and found tumors in my lungs, on the L1 vertebrae of my spine, and on a lymph node outside my rectum. Three and a half years ago, I underwent a colonoscopy and they found cancer on a polyp. But a follow-up surgery determined it had not spread. I was Stage 0. Somehow, a small cancer cell escaped and attached itself to my lymph node and spread throughout my body. Now I was Stage 4. Just my luck!
Since then, many of you have bought my books to show your support. Thank you! I am so proud of my writing and I LOVE sharing it with you! I’ve realized that when I leave this world, while I will be gone, my words will remain in print. I LOVE writing and sharing my thoughts and ideas with others. I LOVE the written word and feel blessed that I have been able to write five GREAT books so far. I have more I hope to write before all is said and done. I am also extremely grateful for all of you who have read and enjoyed my books and shared them with others. THANK YOU!
I will undergo eight chemo regimens through the end of this year and then most likely be on a maintenance chemo the rest of my life. That’s okay. It won’t stop me from living and writing and working and being a father and husband and TV reporter. I’ve faced worst odds in my life and always overcome. I intend to beat this cancer and live for many more years. This is just a short break from my normal life as I take care of myself and get my body back into good health. Thank you for your prayers and support and I hope you continue to enjoy my writing and share my books with others. God bless!
