Resources For Cancer Patients
When I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer last July, I had to take time off work to recover. For four months, I only made 40% of my regular pay. I also had to pay my own health insurance premiums. Money was tight, but fortunately, several local nonprofits stepped in and helped us stay afloat until I could go back to work. I know many struggle financially after a cancer diagnosis, and it can cause all kinds of stress at home. Stress you don’t need as you battle the beast. With that in mind, Chrissy thought it would be a good idea to compile a list of Kansas City non-profits that help cancer patients. I give my wife all the credit with putting this together. We both hope you can use this list to get the help you need as you fight your cancer. Some of these organizations offer financial help. Some offer free services, all to make life easier for you. Some only offer help for certain types of cancers. Others offer help to those fighting all kinds of cancers. We hope this long list of nonprofits dedicated to helping cancer patients helps you. Please feel free to print it off and share it with others. Also, if you have the resources, we encourage you to donate to one of these charities. And I want to send out a huge thank you to all the giving people who run these nonprofits. They work hard everyday to improve the lives of cancer patients. I know it can feel like a thankless job, but you are improving the lives of so many cancer patients, so THANK YOU for your generosity! It is greatly appreciated. Chrissy and I hope this list can lead you toward getting the help you need so you can be in a better position to beat your cancer diagnosis. God bless!
